1960s: CHIP FILSON '66

Chip Filson is a co-founder of Callahan & Associates and currently serves as the company’s Chairman of the Board. A nationally recognized leader in the credit-union industry, Chip is an astute author, frequent speaker, and consultant for the credit-union movement. He has more than 40 years of experience in government, financial institutions, and business. After being awarded a Rhodes Scholarship, he earned a master’s degree in politics, philosophy, and economics from Oxford University in England. He also holds an MBA in management from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management.

1970s: arthur i. segel '73

Art Segel is a professor at Harvard Business School, teaching students about real estate and issues of urbanization. Art served as Vice President at Boston Properties and Deputy for Finance at Massport under Governor Michael Dukakis before co-founding TA Associates Realty in 1982. He has co-founded the nonprofits the 21st Century Fund and The Tobin Project, which was awarded a MacArthur Award for its work on inequality. In 2005, he co-founded The Xander Funds, headquartered in Singapore, primarily focused in private-equity real estate in India.

1980s: lynne o'connor '82

Lynne O’Connor is a global marketing leader specializing in branding, communications, and customer engagement strategies that deliver customer value, differentiate companies and fuel growth. Over her three-decade career she has advised leading companies across diverse industries, such as hospitality and entertainment, telecommunications, financial services, consumer products, and e-commerce. Her professional roles have included being Principal in the Marketing Strategy and Customer Sciences practices at Mercer Management Consulting (now Oliver Wyman), Partner at Lippincott, Senior Director of Brand Strategy at Vistaprint, Vice President and Consulting Director of the Marketing Practice at Forrester Research, and Associate Vice President of Marketing at Curriculum Associates, a high-growth EdTech company with a mission to increase student achievement.

1990s: larry cheng '96

Larry Cheng is the Managing Partner of Volition Capital, where he focuses on investment opportunities in cloud applications, e-commerce, tech-enabled services, and artificial intelligence. Prior to helping found Volition Capital in 2010, Larry was a partner at Fidelity Ventures, where he led their investment in Verid (acquired by EMC). From 2000 to 2005, Larry was a senior associate at Battery Ventures. From 1998 to 2000, he was an associate for Bessemer Venture Partners, where he focused on software investments. Prior to Bessemer, Larry was an associate consultant at Corporate Decisions, Inc.

2010s: rose wang '13

Rose Wang is the co-founder and CEO of Six Foods, a company that makes healthy, delicious, and sustainable foods with insects. She is a Forbes 30 Under 30 Social Entrepreneur, ELLE USA Impact Award winner, Echoing Green Climate Fellow, MassChallenge Gold Winner, Harvard Dean’s Design Challenge winner, and TEDx speaker. Rose also sits on the board of Wema Children, Inc., an education nonprofit in Kenya. Previously, Rose worked in strategy and marketing at Abercrombie and Microsoft.

MODERATOR: RYLEY REYNOLDS '15

Ryley is an Investor at Thrive Capital, a NYC-based Venture Capital firm with prior investments such as Slack, Instagram, Warby Parker, and Oscar Healthcare. Prior to Thrive, she was on the investment team at Insight Venture Partners where she focused on growth-stage SaaS, analytics, and consumer internet companies.   Ryley graduated from Harvard University in 2015 with an AB in Psychology and a minor in Economics. Outside of work, Ryley is a marathon runner and enjoys traveling and cooking. Ryley also serves on the boards of the Harvard Student Agencies Alumni Association, the Harvard Alumni Association, and Harvard in Tech.
